Would you like to make soda bread at home?

If you would like to make soda bread at home with your children, just as they do in Forest School follow Acorns’  Easy to Use Soda Bread Recipe

Ingredients

4 cups plain flour, 300ml sour cream/buttermilk, 1 tsp bicarbonate soda, 1 tsp cream of tartar and 1 tsp salt

Method

Preheat oven to 220 °C/gas 7/425 °F.  Measure dry ingredients into a bowl, add sour cream and mix to soft dough (add a little water if necessary).  Turn onto a floured surface, knead briefly, place on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes.  Serve warm.
