Forest school – BBC coverage and our own manager’s comments

Paula Jenkins, Manager, at Acorns Pre-school was so pleased to see the coverage and is so enthusiastic about the benefits of Forest School she emailed the programme.  And here is what she said: “Really loved seeing Forest School on Countryfile tonight! I think we have to give children a passion for the outdoors from a young age, they need to be able to have the opportunity to explore the endless possibilities the outdoor environment provides. I manage a small village preschool in Wiltshire and I am doing exactly that. Over the past year one of my staff members has completed a forest school level 3 qualification and we run one day a week as a Forest School, it is so popular with parents and children, the session is virtually full. It is a delight to see the children grow in self confidence and esteem as well as physically over the weeks. I applaud the National Trust for their own project, the more we shout about it the more likely we are to be able to encourage healthy, exuberant children with a love of the great outdoors!”.

If you would like to meet Paula and see what we do on our Forest school style day please come and visit the setting.  Please call 07816 280810 to arrange an appointment.
